EVALUATION POLICY: 2025-26

FOR PRE- PRIMARY SECTION

Assessment in early childhood education is a comprehensive framework that helps in evaluating a student’s present level of knowledge and skills. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school – based evaluation of students that covers all features of students’ development. It is a developmental process of assessment that stresses two- fold objectives i.e. continuousness in evaluation and assessment of broad- based learning and behavioral outcomes on the other . Few criteria are supplied for performance task:

(1) Concentration span
(2) Expression of ideas
(3) Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills
(4) Pronunciation
(5) Comprehensive level
(6) Self reliance
(7) Emotional and Mental stability
(8) Personal hygiene
(9) Cognitive and Social development.

Evaluation helps in forming the values of judgment in which “Formative Evaluation”, commonly known as “Assessment” will be done on monthly basis which monitors child’s progress throughout the learning process.

FOR CLASSES I &II

For classes I – II – Assessment of students is conducted throughout the year by means of observation interaction and specially designed worksheets, WTs, PTs and Summative Assessments(Term 1 & 2) .The assessment includes performance at cognitive, social and physical levels . The weekly assessments are scheduled and the students are observed on a 5 point scale

CLASSES III TO XII

Examination Policy

  1. For classes III to VIII, the academic year will be divided into 2 terms and term-end exams will be held at the end of each term.
  1. Evaluation will be based on students’ continuous academic performance during the year.
  2. Only the students scoring 40% and above in each subject will qualify for promotion to the next class.
  1. Grades will be given in di_erent areas of co-scholastic learning.
  2. To prepare the students well and face the Class X and XII Board Examination, syllabi of Classes

VI–IX and XI are designed as per CBSE guidelines with an increase in learning assessment.

Annual Examination Syllabus:

Class VI – 10% of Term I + Term II

Class VII – 20% of Term I + Term II

Class VIII – 30% of Term I + Term II

Class IX and XI –- Entire Syllabus as per CBSE guidelines

  1. For the holistic development of students, co-scholastic activities like Clubs, Specialized Sports,

Art, Dance, Music, Health and Physical Education will be carried out and graded term-wise on

a 3-point grading scale.

  1. The students will also be assessed for discipline which will be based on attendance, sincerity,

values, behaviour, tidiness, respect for rules and regulations etc., on a 3-point grading scale.

  1. Students found using UNFAIR MEANS during any assessment will be marked zero in

that subject. No retest will be held for such students.

  1. Criteria for Excellence Award – Academics
  2. Computer science – Theory and Practical assessment will be conducted for Grade III onwards.
  3. RETEST Policy – A student will be eligible to appear for a retest only in case of the following

scenarios:

  1. Medically Unfit: After provision of a detailed application and medical certi_cate within

three days of the examination date.

  1. Adverse Unforeseen Circumstances: In case of the demise of a family member/relative,

after the provision of a detailed application within three days of the examination date.

NO RETEST WILL BE CONDUCTED IN CASE OF ABSENTEEISM DUE TO ANY OTHER

REASON EXCEPT FOR THE ONES MENTIONED ABOVE.

IGNITED MINDS- SCHOOL LIBRARY

‘Books are uniquely portable magic.’

The school library is open to all bona_de students of the school. All classes are provided with at

least one library period per week. Students must observe the following rules:

  1. Books shall be issued to students Class III onwards.
  2. Students are allowed to borrow books only on their own I card.
  3. Books other than reference books shall be issued for 1 week.
  4. The students must return the borrowed book by the due date. Post due date a _ne of Rs 10 per

day shall be charged.

  1. If the book is lost or damaged, then either the same book will have to be replaced or the

current price of the book shall be charged to the student.

  1. Students must ensure that post reading, books are kept at the assigned shelf only.
  2. Students are not allowed to bring their personal books into the library.
  3. Students must maintain absolute silence in the library.
